So I'm in the bookstore and there's this book see- on the shelf. And it's kinda battered and it looks like it's already been read, or maybe the shipping went wrong, but it's the only copy that particular Indigo had. And it was a book about Superheroes (and I distrust books about superheroes as I feel they work best with a Visual Medium) and it has two writers (though Good Omens made me rethink my distrust of that) and it has a really heavy handed back cover thing and title, I mean, Black And White, how obvious is that? But I bought it and brought it home and
MY GOD
I love this book.
And not in an ironic way. I mean, it's a lot better on the inside. Oh yes. I am going to go finish it now, though I have to get up early and it's getting late (for me).

So when my Carpal Tunnel wouldn't go away after two weeks, the doctor gave me another round of pills and scheduled an appointment with the hospital at the neurology department.
Between the scheduling of the appointment and the actual appointment, the carpal tunnel went away (I still have Tendonitis though, and am getting rather worried about it).
They tested my nerves by giving little electrical shocks to the nerves in my arm, and the static would continue down them making my fingers twitch involuntarily. They did this at multiple points and it felt Very Strange.
Also, my summer course is almost over, I have read several books (including a bunch of Sharpe novels, the new Tamora Pierce book, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel, and Moribito), watched a season and a few episodes of R2 of Code Geass, completely failed to find Blackadder the Fourth, and designed my own fictional culture.
So, how are you guys doing?

Gonna try to make this quick.
Right around the time I started my summer course, my Tendonitis decided to Get Worse and became full-fledged Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. (It was my bicycles fault after all!)
So I quit my usual internet places for a bit because - you know - Carpal Tunnel.
Start lurking again and... what the hell? What happened to my favorite places? Screw this, I'm going back Temporarilly Quitting The Internets
Anyway, so I'm alive and stuff. See you in another couple of weeks when my wrist is all better (hopefully).

Tendonitis very slowly getting better.
Things I have done in past week:
- 'rescued' Woodpecker (northern flicker) (quotations because it didn't exactly survive)
- Met deaf puppy (adorable)
- saw Star Trek again
- Infuriated Sister
- Watched some Supernatural (don't ask), TNG, Leverage, Veronica Mars and half an episode of Smallville (I really should just skip all the bits that don't have a Luthor on screen)
- Caught up on Batman: The Brave and the Bold
- Discovered I like record players
- Had a dream involving LittleBigPlanet and a really scary spider
- Picked up new issues of Booster Gold and Secret six. Really good.
I haven't been as active lately because typing wears down my wrists the fastest.

Now, the funny thing about Summer Vacation is that all of a sudden I have nothing to do. Therefore, I suddenly have time for all those things I couldn't do before, and my Sister came home (with a copy of Persona 3) and so I've been quite busy, somehow.
I've been playing a lot of Persona 3, but fear not - I have started reading.
I just finished Peter Pan in Scarlet, for example. Before that I read the book Cid lent me, Anansi Boys. In both instances, I rather liked the second halves better. Though I did rather enjoy the narrator of Peter Pan in Scarlet.
I really do love Children's Books. When I went into the bookstore to get a copy of Peter Pan in Scarlet, I couldn't help but look around and see books I might like to read. It could take me an hour browsing the Fiction or Fantasy/Sci-fi section of the bookstore trying to find something to read, and approximately five minutes in the Children's section.
So, not only did I come out with the book I was looking for, but also five others. (My sister made me narrow it down to two, but I hadn't looked too closely at the second book [it sounded interesting, I swear], so I didn't notice it was Book 2 in a series, which means I'll have to pick up Book 1)

Here's the thing. I've officially finished classes. I finished Screnzy too.
Now I have absolutely nothing to do.
SO.
Recommend me books! Anything. That's right, anything. Just name the book, give a brief description and why you like it and I'll love you all for ever.
Cheers!

Tomorrow I have an exam. Then I have to clean my sister's room before she gets back and finds out a metaphorical hurricane went through it.
THEN I AM FREE FREE MY GOD I WILL BE FREE MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *coughcough*
So I finished the 100 pages required for Script Frenzy. Maybe it's just me, but Screnzy 10x easier than Nano. ALSO. My comic involves robots and moving plushie unicorns and cops named after alloys. Oh Brass. Oh Steel. Oh Nambe. You are all so awesome. But mostly it is about a bunch of superheroes standing around going "What?"
Yes, I am avoiding studying. How are you?

About a week ago, we were watching Helvetica in class. Since then, I've been seeing it everywhere. So today, I noticed an instance of it, and held it up to Cid.
Me: Helvetica!
Cid: What?
Me: The font.
Cid: Oh, I thought you were proclaiming your love to your heathen god.
Me: ...Imagine fooling people playing Arkham Asylum that their crazy Lovecraft god was Helvetica.
Cid: No, sounds more like a god on D&D. Mine is Comic Sans.
Me: You're evil. Chaotic Evil.
Cid: No, more like Chaotic Neutral. Impact is Chaotic Evil.
Me: *thinking of macros* Maybe. Helvetica is Neutral Neutral.
Cid: Times New Roman is Lawful Good.
Britt: Stencil is Lawful Evil.

This old lady just wouldn't stop staring at me today when I was on my way home. Swear to god, I was creeped out. This is the second time Old People have stared at me without looking away in recent weeks. I'd ask if it is because of my appearance, but that is probably it. Oh well.
And thanks to a Secret today, I have made a fan comm for Batman: the Brave and the Bold:
b_batb, continuing my proud tradition of "If I can't find something, I'll make one for myself". No really. That's why my school had a book club, and that explains about 3/4ths of my fanfics.

Really really nice day today. Had lunch outside, ate some ice cream. Hung out with friends. Ah, it was lovely. ♥
I might update later with Potentially Important News unless I decide not to.
Oh, didn't I promise Dana to update Arthur Bedivere? Whoops.

I haven't been feeling the internet lately. Most likely I'm sulking. Over what, I am not entirely sure.
Okay, normally when I cry "WHY DON'T YOU TELL ME THESE THINGS?!" it is usually my fault and I'm just being a large ham. This? My sister has known about this for weeks and she hasn't said a word about it, despite the fact I run a (small, slow, rarely updated - I am a terrible mod) community (
108fanarts). And right now I can't afford it. Because I'm behind on my self-imposed budget (long story), not because I actually can't afford it. So I could, theoretically, run out and buy it right now.
But I'm not going to.
No matter how much I am tempted.
Honest.
PS: BLURR. THAT IS ALL.

Oh, Wednesday, you magnificent bastard.
Normally, when I read a book, I read it in one or two days, almost all at once. American Gods I read in short bursts for a week. Though the final bit I read all this morning. I almost kind of wish the con went through.
I am getting ready for <a href="http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/>Script Frenzy</a>, which I am very excited about. I don't like to write long passages of narration about the shape of the window sill on which a dead bug is resting. I find it difficult and frustrating. I'm an artist - I want to <i>show</i>. What I do like, however, is writing dialogue. You know how I won Nanowrimo finally? First person narration, figuring that somewhere, Felix was talking to us in a bar, even if he wasn't. It was just one long stream of dialogue. That's why I'm excited for Screnzy - I can just write pages upon pages of dialogue. And for the description, it can just be me talking to the Artist (somebody else or Future!Me) And as a bonus, I can finally tell the tale of the Fizzgizet Fighters. I am tired of winter. I feel like exploring. And I'm still not used to this whole "only six icons" thing.
