Here is this week's Friday Flash, Horrific Premiums.
I really need to (1) start writing earlier in the week so that I have more time to proof read and edit. And (2) take a break from silly and ridiculous. I don't want to get typecast!
Having said that, next week's is probably silly...

i've been working 9 hour shifts every day this week. I thought today i was finally going to get a break and get a short shift, but no. I have to leave in about an hour. Next week is more of the same. This will probably continue right up until xmas...which is great for my pocket! But not so much for my body and stress levels. :S I don't have time to do anything.
I've started not caring about being a little snarky to assholes and people who ask STUPID questions.
Here's a scenario from the other night:
Bro: "How much is NHL 10?"
Nat: "69.99"
Bro: "How much is it used?"
Nat: "64.99"
Bro: "Future Shop has it for 39.99"
Nat: *shrug* "Go there then."
*Bro eyes me wickedly, turns around and leaves*
I've never been comfortable with showing a little 'tude at any other job, but at this one you almost need to. The amount of idiots we get is unreal.
I really want people to stop STARING at me from a line. I guess they're assuming that's going to make me go any faster? I don't know. It just bugs me. So does coming up to my counter asking questions when i'm with a customer. How rude is that? Just fuck off and wait!
Man i could rant for hours. Better stop now while I still can. -_-

Psyche Corporation, of the Gilded Age Records Steampunk music label, is performing in Manhattan on Friday, December 18th. This is our last show for 2009, and this may be your last chance to see us perform in Manhattan. We are booked for TWO remaining shows in Manhattan, this one, and another on Feb 18, 2010. Other than that, unless conditions in Manhattan change dramatically we are going to be performing exclusively within larger events such as the Clockwork ball in NJ, Steampunk World's Fair, and others, most of which will not be in NYC. Please come by on Dec 18 and say hi!

We perform at 8pm, on Friday 12/18/09
at R Bar
218 Bowery
NYC, 10012

I had fun turning my hand to some Steampunk medals, hat pins and jacket badges. Combining old and new unusual components.
Maelstomme's Pith helmet badge, Death before Duty Drunken Airship Pirate badge, Airship Mechanic Guild pin and Steampunk Glory Pin.

I was convinced that this book was called Inscape, but Googling doesn't turn up any children's/YA books with that title.
It involved a girl and a boy in some kind of surreal alternate dimension (possibly in the ground?). There were guards or monsters called "Polizei" (or something obviously derived from that).
I read it in a library in the early 80s, so it must have been published before then.

I'm trying to find a book that I read when I was back in middle school for fun. On the cover were two girls in the shower (fully clothed and everything, im pretty sure they were wearing sweaters and jeans). The story was about two friends and a guy comes between them. I know the reason for the cover had to do with something in the book where the girls either had something spilled on them or they were washing something from their hair or something. I think one of the character's name was Eve.
Any help??

Title: Chromophilia
Author: Melanthios
Words: 200
Rating: R?
Note: Chromophilia - arousal from a certain colour. I'm trying out a different Riddler.
( I want to be seen green... )
This was actually a really fascinating paraphilia to come across--it's so inherently synaesthetic, and all.

Ok folks. Since I don't contribute much to fanfiction these days, I thought I'd try my hand at making icons. It's my first time posting any icons so I'm kinda nervous. I've been experimenting with style so there's different lighting effects and weird colors :D

We had a patron in, looking for a favorite childhood book and I'm drawing a blank.
What he remembers:
There was a magician and a boy, and the magician went into town and told the boy not to touch anything. He touched a box and released monsters. The book cover was maroon and almost certainly a picture book. The patron is about 18-20, and he thought the book was older (from the 60s).
