Tendonitis very slowly getting better.

Things I have done in past week:

- 'rescued' Woodpecker (northern flicker) (quotations because it didn't exactly survive)
- Met deaf puppy (adorable)
- saw Star Trek again
- Infuriated Sister
- Watched some Supernatural (don't ask), TNG, Leverage, Veronica Mars and half an episode of Smallville (I really should just skip all the bits that don't have a Luthor on screen)
- Caught up on Batman: The Brave and the Bold
- Discovered I like record players
- Had a dream involving LittleBigPlanet and a really scary spider
- Picked up new issues of Booster Gold and Secret six. Really good.

I haven't been as active lately because typing wears down my wrists the fastest.

My paid account ran out. I will miss you, paid account.

So I went to the video store to rent Wonder Woman, but they didn't have it to rent. For some reason (and I have no idea why - god knows) they had to buy even if I couldn't rent it. I forgot my wallet, but Cid came through, and I made the jump.

It was worth it.

It was good! It was funny too. And Wondy was badass. I think it was a really good distillation of the whole Wondy mythos. I don't really feel like going into detail right now. But I would heartily recommend it.

Also! There was a Fantasio related secret today. Arrrrgh.

I've had a bad day.

I had a headache for most of it. I couldn't pick up my comics because I lost my wallet. And, well, I lost my wallet. I spent most of it painting. On something I redid twice.

But I firmly believe in equivalent exchange, or karma, or whatever. So if life is going sucky, it always throws me a bone.

I AM SO HAPPY, YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA.

I can't speak French. Ten years of French, from French Immersion Kindergarten (my parents thought it would be neat if I grew up to be bilingual, I assumed they hated me) to grade nine failed to teach me anything about the language except the bits which a monkey could pick up.

I have this weird obsession with the comic Spirou et Fantasio. I really want to read it.
So far, the only version I've seen was the original, in French. I don't even know if I'll like it or not! I just want to read it. And the harder it is for me to find it, the more obsessive I get.

I am troubled.

My class today didn't suck! I was so nervous and now I'm kind of happy. I definitely think my last prof and me didn't mesh well.

Things that would be brilliant: Mike Mignola. Gargoyle Comic. Think about it.

My cat is snoring right now. It is squeekily adorable.

It is so friggin' cold outside.

I came downstairs to upload my comic and the tv was on playing this weird movie that was about three-thirds through. I had no idea what was going on.

I came all the way back from school and realized that I had forgotten something important about my project, and now I have to figure out to adjust it.

Apparently I did get the DNA thing wrong last page. *sigh* The new page is up! In which we meet a couple of new characters. _{I totally forgot to add the gag that he's supposed to be reading "A Short History of England.}

Alright! My new project is up and running. Awesome. It's a spin-off (prequel) to my Nano Novel, about Arthur Bedivere's adventures during the Second World War. It's basically about him beating up nazis. I'm trying to make it a self contained story, but there's a lot of stuff that, to use tvTropes vocabulary, that's All There In the Manual.

My habit of spilling ink all over myself is getting ridiculous. Just saying.

So I thought, "This whole Nano thing is over, now what?" and then I thought of the suggestion I got in October: One comic page per day for a month. Huh. Now, this Friday, I'm going to do this thing. (Those last few words should be read in a Trailer Guy voice)

One comic page per day from then until school starts in January and/or the issue/chapter finishes. I, um, already started a blog.

Inspired by the following meme, my new idiosyncratic Entry Naming (because I'm vain enough to think you care) will be Song Titles. ( Meme! )

Forty thousand BOOYAH! I've never gotten forty-thousand within the month before! And the month isn't even over yet! I am so excited, you guys!

Meanwhile, I've been um, Boostle fangirling all day.

Heroes is getting sidetracked like crazy, and it just started ten seconds ago. It actually kinda reminds me of my nano novel, except I don't have the pretense of you know, trying to have it make sense? I think I'd rather work on my homework than watch Heroes. And I'm the queen of procastination.

Or at the very least, continue re-reading Booster Gold.

Do you know what I've been thinking about lately? Okay, I've been thinking about so much stuff I think my head's going to break. Comic format.

Okay, I know, I know. I go on and on about comics, but this isn't going to be about the characters, it's the floppy vs graphic novel vs internet debate. Except I was thinking about something different. I was thinking about Manga. ( Manga vs Comics: How They Are Published )

SO. I finally finished watching the pilot of the Middleman (when did I start it? A month ago?) and watched the first half of the second episode. There's only so long I can watch stupid internet quality, guys!

I went back through my 'comics' tag, and found this, and now I kind of want to write a crackfic. Argh, when did I start writing fanfiction? ... Okay, it was a while ago, but still.

I reached 20000ish words last night, and today I got to 22000ish words. Give me a BOOYAH!
Short snippet: “Oh, that’s great, blame it on me! At least I’m not dead!” “Low blow, low blow. Way to pull out the Deceased card.”

They are canceling Blue Beetle.

This cannot be allowed to happen. I WILL MAKE OUT WITH YOU IF I HAVE TO.

It's time to activate super-secret pushy mode. I am tired of all my favorite characters dying or my favorite titles being canceled.

The class that usually gives me a ton of homework gave a lot less than usual, and since I don't have any homework due for the next of the week, I took the day off. Got some writing done, wrote some Nano, got my cds for the exchange ready, read some comics. And now I'm bored. For the past few weeks it's been such a break-neck pace that I don't know what to do with 'free time' now that I have it. The good ol' summer days of watching ten episodes of some tv show in a row are over.

19 460 words. Snippet: “I was an ARTIST.” “I thought you were an archaeologist?” “I was.” “I am very confused.” This is me trying to retcon something without actually contracticting previously established things (because I'd rewrite them, but y'know, Nano).

I remembered why I love Kid Devil so much. Man, I miss reading Teen Titans. Then I remember the train wreck that McKeever's made of it - it's worse than New X-men post HoM, unless you count dead characters. So I miss reading Teen Titans during the first few issues post One Year Later. But mostly I miss Kid Devil. And Miss Martian. Can we have John Rogers writing Teen Titans now, please? ....Please? I'll - I'll wait. I'll wait forever if I have to. Because... Okay, nobody's going to get this reference (I love you, Cardcaptor Sakura).

Also! Listening to Jonathan Coulton songs on his website because I am not internet savvy enough to figure out how to download them. Tom Cruise Crazy is great. Some songs I don't like, but here's my favorites (in no particular order): Tom Cruise Crazy, Skullcrusher Mountain, the Presidents, I Hate California, Someone is Crazy, re: Your Brains (absolutely hilarious), and Code Monkey.

I feel like updating my fanfics, but all word counts during this month have to go to my nano. Maybe if I write a couple thousand and get ahead of the game...

1) Convinced Zeal to buy the first Blue Beetle trade (Zeal is my new Nano friend, y'all)
2) Upon hearing his reaction ("Good, but I have no idea what's going on"), I went back to S_D and read Jaime's appearances in Infinite Crisis.
3) Started reading the comments of the first few posts under the Jaime Reyes tag in an attempt to pinpoint when people start to warm up to him. Hint: It didn't take very long. Especially after his series started. Even pre-series he gained fans quickly.

Who's geekier than me right now? Probably only the Shortpacked! guy. Nobody!

I'm at 13 044 words. Here's today's snippet! Nefertum had this great habit of ignoring people. and “That’s why the apostrophe is after the s in Gods’ Senses, even though there are no apostrophes in the ancient Egyptian language.”
Followed shortly by the very first mention of the Fourth Wall, but I'll try not to break it too much. It's very hard to rebuild.

I just finished the cane for my Riddler costume. Snazzy! And lightweight. Now I just need a purple tie, pants, and more question marks. Maybe a mask? What's hilarious it the main problem with my costume is my face. I have such a girly face.

I think I'm going to try to get most of it done today, even though I have a lot of work to do.

Oh, and help! Other than the pig, what makes you think of Lord of the Flies?

I bought my birthday present from my grandparents today. Ah, Hellboy hardcover volume 1, you are so pretty.

And I finally got B's present in the mail! My birthday is officially over.

Odd things kept on happening near/to me today. For example, I saw a man picking his nose on the subway. I saw another man ride by on a skateboard, wearing a very large backpack, accompanied by two dogs. It was very strange.

I finally went and made myself a Riddler icon, though I really should be studying and/or working on homework.

I can now name most of the major bones in the human body off the top of my head (which is made out of parietal and frontal bones of the skull, btw)!

And I've been reading Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire, which was a birthday present. It's good! And the Mike Mignola art is so pretty. ♥

A few hours later: I just love the Desert Peach.

My obsession with the Riddler petered out for a bit, until I started on my Hallowe'en costume, at which point it started all up again. Although Cid lending me all of his issues of Batman Adventures helped.


So it's my Birthday today. Yeah.

Oh! And I never got to say "Happy Birthday" to Bunnyhero. Happy (Late) Birthday!
