FIVE MINUTES LATER: Have started to laugh my head off. Cannot stop. If I do not post again, I will have died of laughter. Dad can have my hats.

My paid account ran out. I will miss you, paid account.

So I went to the video store to rent Wonder Woman, but they didn't have it to rent. For some reason (and I have no idea why - god knows) they had to buy even if I couldn't rent it. I forgot my wallet, but Cid came through, and I made the jump.

It was worth it.

It was good! It was funny too. And Wondy was badass. I think it was a really good distillation of the whole Wondy mythos. I don't really feel like going into detail right now. But I would heartily recommend it.

Also! There was a Fantasio related secret today. Arrrrgh.

Friiiig. I had all these nice, long answers to this meme, and frikken autosave lost it because I posted something to a community. Me = Dumb

Now, a while back I posted about my favorite board game of all time, Clue, and how they're changing it. Another thing you might know about me is that along with the board game, I love the movie, also named Clue.

Ahem.

Ooo, pretty! ♥

Jokes aside, I hope that if they're actually going to do it, they're going to do it well. I'm not going to jump to conclusions, assume it's going to be a trainwreck, and run crying to my bed. ...what?

So I'm sick. And rather miserable, though I feel better than I did this morning (but that's not saying much).

When I'm sick, I tend to watch comfort movies. So I watched the Road to El Dorado, which I've been thinking about since a few of my New Friends are fans. I love that movie so much. ♥ I haven't seen it in a while though.

And Sky High, which I also love, even if it is corny and predictable (but being predictable only matters the first time).

Ah! But I saw the latest episode of Leverage as well. Just now. I guess it's the end of season one? Luckily, they've announced Season Two. I like Leverage, but working on Leverage is what I guess to be the reason John Rogers isn't doing comics right now. I have very mixed feelings about that.

Embarrasing
I got a volume of Princess Tutu today, and was all excited because I thought I'd finally finished my collection. I get home, open it, go to put it in my dvd player, all excited to finally watch the Femio episode again and - hey wait? Femio was season two. Disc three is season one. It was volume 4 I was missing, not 3.

I am an idiot.

In other news, I got no work done today, but I did more about Wales than I ever knew before.

Am I the only one who wants to see a Jonathan Coulton - Weird Al collaboration?

What the hell?
Dammit, radio! Stop waking me up with "Human"! What does "Are we human, or are we dancer?" even MEAN anyway? God, when I first heard the lyrics (somebody told them to me) I thought it was some song by some girly J-pop group trying to sing in English and instead they ended up with badly pronounced Engrish translated by Babelfish. And now I have it stuck in my head, which is hilarious in a trainwreck sort of way. It is catchy, however.

On the subject of music, I realized yesterday that despite the subject matter, "Suicide is Painless" never fails to cheer me up. Oh M*A*S*H, I love you. That was the best scene in the Movie, by the way. The game of life is hard to play...

Random note! There doesn't seem to be any parents in Woosterverse. Just aunts. And the occasional uncle or cousin.

So for the last few weeks I've wanted to see Milk, mostly because I liked the trailer (and by that I mean it gave me shivers). I finally saw it last night.

It left me lighthearted, and in retrospect I'm not entirely sure if that was the right response, but yeah.

Good movie.

Me being a hypocrite, watch me completely mangle Arthurian Legend in today's page. My username actually comes from Morgana le Fay (for the record - I prefer Morgana over Morgan, but I don't really mind using them interchangeably, the same why I can use both Ahiru and Duck). EDIT: I actually updated it twice.

Yeah, I got nothing.

Geez Voldemort
Page Sixteen is up. I'm probably not supposed to say this, but the Blue Barricade is badass. In my personal opinion.

I didn't really get anything done today.

Admittedly, it's really cold outside.

PS: When Christmas gets closer, we watch Love Actually. But I get the feeling that Dad would watch Love Actually at the drop of a hat. I don't think we've watched it yet this December.

Gingerbread Batcave.

Should I build it?

...Can you use ice cream cones in a gingerbread house? (For the stalactites and stalagmites) *already making plans*

Technically today is tomorrow, but I have a new page anyway.

I should watch some westerns.

I came downstairs to upload my comic and the tv was on playing this weird movie that was about three-thirds through. I had no idea what was going on.

I came all the way back from school and realized that I had forgotten something important about my project, and now I have to figure out to adjust it.

Apparently I did get the DNA thing wrong last page. *sigh* The new page is up! In which we meet a couple of new characters. I totally forgot to add the gag that he's supposed to be reading "A Short History of England.

Went to see Casino Royal 2: The Two Towers today. AKA Quantum of Solace, y'all.

Coming out of the movie was kind of terrifying.

The Twilight Fangirls. Oh, the Twilight fangirls. They actually ran into the theater. I think I must have seen three guys (one parent, one with emo hair, and one friend). The rest were ALL teenage girls. ALL OF THEM. AND THEY WERE SCREAMING. AND I WAS AFRAID. VERY AFRAID.

Nano's going okay. I broke Menzies out of jail and I think him and Felix are gonna have an "Enemy-of-my-enemy-team-up". I don't have any snippets from today, but have an older one anyway. She took us to where the animals were being kept. All the cats were yelling at the top of their lungs, so to speak. The room was filled with meows, but I could hear what they were saying.
...
I looked at Jill, unsure if I wanted to smack myself in the face or burst out laughing. “They’re, they’re arguing about Schrödinger’s Cat.”

Oh Paul Gross, why are you so Canadian?

  • Oct. 17th, 2008 at 9:30 PM
Canada
I just got back from Passchendaele (I can't believe I actually spelled that right). It was good. There were a few awkward bits, and a couple of bits where I was just "That isn't symbolic at all" (read: sarcasm), but it was still good.

On the way home, me and Cid were talking about WWI and how it impacted war, when I saw these boxes out for recycling. You know the ones that people put on the curb? Sometimes they put out... other stuff (I have a photograph of a ton of stuff I saw one day including a couch and a classic baby carriage), and this one had two potted plants. I stop, pick it up, and take it with me. It's on my table right now. I don't even know what it is. But it's healthy, with no apparent reason for it to be thrown out. I am a little surprised at myself for taking it home, but I don't regret it.
Hug!
So my dad has this way of making my life easier. Take Chuck for example. I thought it wasn't on dvd and didn't bother to double check. He did. And bought it for me.

To be fair, he seems to like it too.

Second thing:

I am not above seeing faults in the things I like. With the sole exception of the movie Lilo&Stitch.

I think Lilo&Stitch is absolutely perfect the way it is. I love that movie so much. That's all I wanted to say, really.

Still the Prettiest!
So I finally, finally watched 3:10 to Yuma. It's one of those movies that when I feel like watching a movie, I always list it as an option, but never pick it. But today, I dunno - I just decided "I'm gonna watch it."

Yeah. So. Gay. I'm sorry- I'm sorry, I'm a slasher, but seriously.

The first inkling wasn't between Ben Wade (Crowe) and Dan (Bale), but was actually with Charlie Pierce (Foster), Wade's second in command. That man totally had a crush on his boss.

But of course, by the end of the movie you just - you just can't not see it, y'know? 'Tween Wade and Dan. 'Specially on Wade's side.

Still. Really good movie. I think my main problem with Westerns it that they're slow (The Good, the Bad & the Ugly was particularly slow).

That is all. Oh, but now I'm getting (for lack of a better term) Western plotbunnies.

Figured out why I love to do book fanart and the occasional comic fanart better than all others.

Bloody referencing.

Went out for a walk in the rain today. It was lovely.

And I watched Penelope, which was surprisingly better than expected. I quite liked it actually.

Dead Depressed

*emo*
*whines* I want to go see the Dark Knight again even if my inner feminist won't shut up. We actually went yesterday, but the showing was sold out. On a Monday! Go figure.

My printer's being stupid. And I have an assignment due in an hour. Please work. Pllllleeeaaase. I bought you new ink and everything! Why won't you work?

Later, after class:
So I'm supposed to hand it in on Thursday.

I feel depressed. I don't really deal with stress very well.

Only Oddities

I'm strangely awake even though I slept in 'till eleven (sleeping past nine always makes me groggy, so being perfectly fine after eleven is almost unheard of). However, I think this is because I was up 'till three yesterday.
That's right - I saw The Dark Knight. I'm not going to tell you anything, though.

On a somewhat different note, I had a really strange (and long) day yesterday. Going out to buy buns, being unable to get in through the front entrance and having to throw rocks at my own window (that had the opposite effect I was intended: When my sister finally picked up the phone, she realized it was me that was throwing rocks and absolutely refused to let me in, even though I only had an hour to relax before heading to my field trip. In hindsight, throwing rocks was a really poor decision).
I had class too.

And I was reading Prisoner of Azkaban all day between all this. The third book always reminds me why I love Lupin so much. Him and his chocolate.

Painfully Potterific

Are you f*cking serious? Siriusly?
So I've been sick all week, watching Monty Python and Stargate SG-1 and reading Harry Potter.

Late last night (or maybe early this morning) I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a bit of a surprise considering I must've read the Goblet of Fire a dozen times after it came out.

I knew that things would be different this time around, considering that I was not staying up reading all night long to seven in the morning, and there was no way that I would be nearly as weepy as the first time around. That being said, I did shed a few tears near the end (the rest got little whimpers), and I did understand things better this time (a few unanswered questions that had in fact been answered but I had stayed up 'till seven in the morning and probably was not in the state to support some of the subtleties), and after I was done I collapsed into incomprehensible sounds, but that's quite normal for me.
It should be noted that since I started with the fifth, I still have four more books to go. One day I might read all seven in perfect order, but it is not this week, and not next week either.

I have the strange desire to write fanfiction, which is not something I've had the desire to do for Harry Potter since pre-fifth book.

Because I was sick I missed seeing Hellboy II with everybody, but I intend to watch it ASAP.
