Running About the Internets

  • Feb. 28th, 2009 at 7:37 PM
Really Really Dangerous Stargate
So I've had a busy day. I bought the first Thursday Next book yesterday, finished it this morning, and ran about today looking for the second one.

Most of what I've been doing, however, is obsessively running about the internet trying to find news, comments, posts and mentions of the whole Scans_Daily affair. I'm actually a little bit scared at myself at how much time that took up.

I need to watch the newest episode of Leverage. I hate season finales. Give me a nice mid-season episode any day. (With the exception of the SG:Atlantis episode "The Siege: Part II". That was a good episode. Mostly because I like seeing Sheppard being a badass. Weird things about Stargate! While my favorite characters are Beckett and McKay, [honorary mention to Weir and Ronon and Sheppard] most of my favorite episodes are Sheppard episodes. Except for Duet, which I like for entirely different reasons).

Being Sick: Day Two

Well that was nice
Found season two of Stargate: Atlantis, so watched Duet and Runner (in that order). There's nothing like a little McKay, Beckett and Ronon first thing in the morning. Now I just need to watch a Sheppard and Todd episode and a Weir episode and I'll be set. But I can't seem to find my dvd for the third season (which is the best overall, in my opinion). Le Sigh.

I also went and re-read Montmorency. Well, the first one. I love that one. The others... I don't know. I'm going to re-read them too, but I always liked the first one the best. For people who have never read Montmorency! (AKA almost everyone) It's set in Victorian England and is about this man who wants to restart his life after almost getting killed committing a crime. So he gets this plan for some ingenious robberies, and sets up a dual identity. Montmorency, the gentleman, and Scarper, the thief. There are lots of Secret Identity shenanigans and he falls in love with Opera.

Bored sick person is resisting the urge to spam her friends' lists. Also resisting the urge to run about TvTropes to add Montmorency examples everywhere.

EDIT: Stole a meme from [info]starry_arte. Give me a fandom and a pairing or character(s), as well as a number between 1 and 999. This number will correspond to a song on my playlist that will serve as the prompt for your fic.

Note, however, that I don't actually have 999 songs on my playlist, so let's say 1 - 50 and call it even.

Does it need a better Team?

Really Really Dangerous Stargate
So. I'm uh, I'm writing a fanfic just because it's totally weird. Stargate: DCU. Yeah. So I'm thinking, privately funded by by Bruce Wayne, with Ted as the Daniel Jackson character (Dan helps with that too). Clark's on the team too, and Barbara Gordon co-Hammond's it with Bruce. Though I was thinking more of a combination of BOP's Oracle and SGA's Weir. Wondy and MM come in Teal'c-style.

Have I soared to new levels of Geeky, or is this inevitable?

Also! Disgaea DS or Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure DS?
Disgaea pros: Neat game. Strategy RPG. New stuff. On the DS! Cons: I already have it for the PS2.
Rhapsody pros: It's a musical! It's a musical RPG? HOW IS THIS NOT AWESOME? Cons: Untested. The PS1 version was a SRPG but this one's turn based. What? I like Strategy RPGS!

Why are they cancelling this show again?

  • Sep. 17th, 2008 at 2:42 PM
Well that was nice
Tod the Wraith is badass. "I hope it tastes as delicious as the farmers who grew it." :)

Whenever Sheppard names a wraith I give a little squee.

In Real Life, I have a ton of homework. ...Well, I'm off to a Comic Book Store!

THEY'RE CANCELING STARGATE: ATLANTIS.

Grah.

Similar to how "all my favorite characters die", I'm starting to think that "everything I like gets cancelled".

Uncool.

Decision Dream

Really Really Dangerous Stargate
I had a dream. I was McKay, on Atlantis, all by myself (or maybe I was just watching McKay, you know how dreams are). And there was this sentient fire chasing me. Or maybe it was a normal fire that I could use Atlantean technology to change the direction of but not stop. Point is, I was running down this long hall with the fire behind me a bit and I could go either of two directions. Or send it down two directions.

I could send it into the armory, making it blow up and probably killing me/McKay, or I could send it through the door into the main tower, where it would instantly engulf the most populated area in flames. There was no third option, try as I might to calculate one on McKay's little computer pad thingy.

So me/McKay thought: "Pinch myself, and I might wake up." So I pinched myself.

And woke up.

Grivious Genocide

Don't Cry
I've committed genocide. I can't--- I feel a little woozy. And guilty. I won't do it again, I won't. What gives me the right to take so many lives just because they're "only" ants? I feel awful.

..

I finally buckled down and bought Stargate: SG-1 Season 1. I've only watched the first episode so far.

I'm not going to be in town for the next few days, so um, if you need to contact me it'll be difficult.

After Atlantis

Fly my little Puddlejumper
So we watched the last episode of Stargate: Atlantis (at least until next season). ...Now what am I supposed to do? About one episode every day for the past couple of months is nothing to sneeze at. *sigh* I was thinking of getting Firefly or Buffy. At least with Firefly I only need to get one season. I've been watching select episodes of SG-1, but I don't feel like watching ten seasons worth.

I've been reading three books at once now, and Cid just brought back Catch-22 and MASH, so maybe I'll finally be able to get in the right mood to finish Turvey.

Talking about Cid, he's off today, so he lent me Kevin Smith's run of Green Arrow.

My school tells me I'm two dollars off on my tuition for my summer course. At least they haven't made me pay late fees (approx $45) for not having two dollars paid. :/ I don't think it's worth their effort. Either that, or they haven't updated my account yet.

.......;_;

Graveyard - FMA
.....why do all my favorite characters die?

Today was such a good day so far too.

I may be being much too melodramatic for a television character.

Well that's not cool

OWNED
They took Legion of Superheroes off it's saturday morning slot. Now where am I supposed to watch the second season? *grumblegrumble*

I made some Stargate: Atlantis icons, and a little Carson fanart at deviantART.

I'm almost done classes, but the end of term is still a mystery to me.

As soon as I have time, I think I'll get a bunch of books. Anything you guys would recommend?

Oh Japan.

Watching You
How am I supposed to do research when I'm sick?

Everything seems like a good idea in my state of mind. Which would explain the ruined drawing of Stargate Atlantis crew wearing skirts with pom-poms.

Extensive Reading
I was just looking through my book of WWII slang and thinking about using the language in a sci-fi or something, when I came across this entry:

Puddlejumper: Taylor-Young Aeroplane Company Auser air observation post (AOP), employed for artillery spotting and liason. It was a license-built version of the American Tylorcraft. This type of aircraft was refered to as an "army cooperation aeroplane".*

Now, Sheppard, anything you'd like to admit?

Yesterday - So very long

Really Really Dangerous Stargate
I've been working the past week on a project, but since it involves a lot of sewing, I like to have things in the background playing, so I re-watched the Usual Suspects.

Then B. came over and we finally finished the first season of Stargate (I introduced my sister to SG:A and she quickly became as addicted as me, so I could only watch it when she was there). It ends.... on a massive cliff hanger. So we quickly got Cid (that would be Colin) to look for the second season, because I suck at finding things, never-mind cheap, and he has 'resources'. So now I have the second season (RONON! I'm so excited), only I can't watch it until B. comes back tonight.

I did intend to go to Dana's veggie restaurant thing, only mum had an impromptu visit for easter. Also, I am lazy and have a project to finish in the next 23 hours.

Gollum Ring Slash
C. managed to find me the first season of Stargate: Atlantis which is so much easier to watch and follow. Mostly because it is the first season, not the fourth. I am quite enjoying it. It is furthering my assumption that Weir is brilliant. Mr. Crazy Dreadlocks hasn't turned up yet.

World War I planes are cool.

Miss my icons.

Pimp!
Discovered that I do, in fact, have Stargate: Atlantis on demand. Yes, it was a happy discovery, even if they just have the forth season. I can deal. I like McKay, the guy with the crazy dreadlocks and maybe Dr. Weir.

I need to do my homework.

That is all. Over and out.

Harry's so dreamy
The Space channel only plays Stargate: Atlantis during the weekend, during the week all it does is play Stargate SG1. All I saw was a couple episodes, and now I just want to see more. The characters managed to catch my attention in a very short time. Maybe I should rent it.

Rereading 52 just reminds me of those horrid ideas I had involving Sobek and Osiris. It's just so wrong on so many levels. But my fingers twitch above the keyboard. This may call for drastic action. Edit2: My fingers couldn't resist. And now I'm going to hell.
EDIT: The last issue of Cable and Deadpool finally came out! I think I almost got teary-eyed.
