Miguel and Tulio and Guitar
Tendonitis very slowly getting better.

Things I have done in past week:

- 'rescued' Woodpecker (northern flicker) (quotations because it didn't exactly survive)
- Met deaf puppy (adorable)
- saw Star Trek again
- Infuriated Sister
- Watched some Supernatural (don't ask), TNG, Leverage, Veronica Mars and half an episode of Smallville (I really should just skip all the bits that don't have a Luthor on screen)
- Caught up on Batman: The Brave and the Bold
- Discovered I like record players
- Had a dream involving LittleBigPlanet and a really scary spider
- Picked up new issues of Booster Gold and Secret six. Really good.

I haven't been as active lately because typing wears down my wrists the fastest.

School's Out

Easily Distracted
Now, the funny thing about Summer Vacation is that all of a sudden I have nothing to do. Therefore, I suddenly have time for all those things I couldn't do before, and my Sister came home (with a copy of Persona 3) and so I've been quite busy, somehow.

I've been playing a lot of Persona 3, but fear not - I have started reading.

I just finished Peter Pan in Scarlet, for example. Before that I read the book Cid lent me, Anansi Boys. In both instances, I rather liked the second halves better. Though I did rather enjoy the narrator of Peter Pan in Scarlet.

I really do love Children's Books. When I went into the bookstore to get a copy of Peter Pan in Scarlet, I couldn't help but look around and see books I might like to read. It could take me an hour browsing the Fiction or Fantasy/Sci-fi section of the bookstore trying to find something to read, and approximately five minutes in the Children's section.

So, not only did I come out with the book I was looking for, but also five others. (My sister made me narrow it down to two, but I hadn't looked too closely at the second book [it sounded interesting, I swear], so I didn't notice it was Book 2 in a series, which means I'll have to pick up Book 1)

Long (probably TL;DR) gushing over the new Suikoden game (with spoilers but not huge ones and I'm not that far anyway), under the cut )

108 More Characters to Memorize

Say What?
I haven't been feeling the internet lately. Most likely I'm sulking. Over what, I am not entirely sure.

Okay, normally when I cry "WHY DON'T YOU TELL ME THESE THINGS?!" it is usually my fault and I'm just being a large ham. This? My sister has known about this for weeks and she hasn't said a word about it, despite the fact I run a (small, slow, rarely updated - I am a terrible mod) community ([info]108fanarts). And right now I can't afford it. Because I'm behind on my self-imposed budget (long story), not because I actually can't afford it. So I could, theoretically, run out and buy it right now.

But I'm not going to.

No matter how much I am tempted.

Honest.

PS: BLURR. THAT IS ALL.

Starscream Is Crazy, Are You?

  • Jan. 2nd, 2009 at 6:50 PM
O RLY? YA RLY!
I finally, finally finished the second season of Transformers Animated.

The Sari thing was spoiled for me. But Starscream is comedy gold. Ahah. Female!Starscream boggles me. Is she the female part of his personality? The competent part of him? I think it's his inner know-it-all or something. But why female? GAH. Oh Starscream, I didn't like you at first but now I love you. ♥

I haven't updated my comic because Christmas threw me off track, sorry.

And I've been spending way too much time with Disgaea DS. Strategy RPGs are so addictive.

We got a new table to go with Freya, and to my surprise, I finally found the second Phoenix Wright while cleaning stuff to make room for it. Maybe now I'll finally be able to finish the Fourth Case.

Does it need a better Team?

Really Really Dangerous Stargate
So. I'm uh, I'm writing a fanfic just because it's totally weird. Stargate: DCU. Yeah. So I'm thinking, privately funded by by Bruce Wayne, with Ted as the Daniel Jackson character (Dan helps with that too). Clark's on the team too, and Barbara Gordon co-Hammond's it with Bruce. Though I was thinking more of a combination of BOP's Oracle and SGA's Weir. Wondy and MM come in Teal'c-style.

Have I soared to new levels of Geeky, or is this inevitable?

Also! Disgaea DS or Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure DS?
Disgaea pros: Neat game. Strategy RPG. New stuff. On the DS! Cons: I already have it for the PS2.
Rhapsody pros: It's a musical! It's a musical RPG? HOW IS THIS NOT AWESOME? Cons: Untested. The PS1 version was a SRPG but this one's turn based. What? I like Strategy RPGS!

Being Bored

Why doesn't anybody tell me these things?! EDIT: Apparently I didn't notice its a PSP game. When Cid pointed this out to me, he told me about 358/2 Days for the DS. I want to play both? *still haven't finished Chain of Memories*

On a completely different note, staying inside all day feels completely different when you have no choice.

So I went to go get tickets for the Dark Knight with my sister, and since we had nothing better to do we went to the little arcade that the movie theater has. It has since gained a few games that it didn't before, so we played a bit of pinball while some girls played the ddr machine. They moved off when we were still playing pinball and this guy moved in.

He was one of those people that can play the double-ddr, using both sides. I stopped playing and watched him a bit. Eventually he moved off to play another game, and I moved in to play ddr. Between my first and second round, he came over and asked me if I was still a beginner. I said I play on Light, but yeah- still a beginner to his standards. Then he told me it took him fifteen years to play the double-pad so I felt a bit better. Then I played a couple of songs and he gave me a couple of tips afterward. He offered to play two-player and pay for another round if I wanted to, but I'm still a little sick so I regretfully declined.

He was nice. I think it was a pleasant encounter, overall. He told me to keep on practicing. =D

Five Fun Fizzgizets

Things that Vex all men
Few things. First, my sister (B) just called to ask the distance between London and Bath, and the speed at which a horse and carriage travels (presumably to figure out how long it would take a horse and carriage to get to Bath from London or vice versa, but why she needs to know that I have no idea).

Second, I'm taking a summer class and it is actually pretty interesting. The instructor is a little cute in a nerdy sort of way, but I think he's older than he looks.

Thirdly, I'm re-reading Harry Potter. Again. Starting from the fifth, hoping to finish with the fourth. Don't ask why, I haven't read the books in order for ages.

Fourthly, Cid finally lent me Metal Gear Solid. I had forgot how much I hate sneaking in video games. Is it really worth getting though the first game for character interactions in the third?

Fifthly, WALL-E was made of awesome and I kind of want to see it again.

Animal Crossing - the secret

  • Apr. 28th, 2008 at 3:08 PM
Please
Okay, so I discovered this Animal Crossing fanfiction. It's uh - very disturbing. So before you read, the Terrible Secret of Animal Crossing, you have to be aware that 1) the actual game is not like this and 2) that it's surprisingly well written, even if it is a very, very dark interpretation of the game.

Yays!

Squee!
Creamsicles! How many am I allowed to eat in a day?

I bought this game called Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-revis. It's fun. I'm a sucker for school-based things.

...

I'm bored out of my mind. I need a job or something.

Brawl: Cute Characters for the Win.

Finally have some time off. This week was killer.

I've been playing a lot of Super Smash Bros Brawl, and if you ever played against me in Melee I prefered, well, Kirby, Peach, Bowser, Link, and Mr. Game and Watch. I hated using Ness.
Brawl Babblings )
Come to think of it, I don't use that much Snake or Pit, or even Kirby anymore, unless they come up on Random.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited. Oh, Indiana. -heart-

The Atlantica level in KHII really, really annoys me. On the other hand, the Tron level is better than the actual movie.

I am actually getting quite adept at playing Lucas in SSBB.

I should also learn to use the words "fubar" and "snafu" in normal language.

EDIT: PIXAR, I LOVE YOU.

Are you ready to Brawl?

  • Mar. 9th, 2008 at 2:54 PM
Icarus
After a very quick recon mission, I have obtained Brawl. Let the smashing begin.

Pit is love.

And they powered up Peach! Since you can use Gamecube controls (which are a lot easier to use than the wiimotes for this game), and Peach has pretty much the same attacks, all those hours playing Melee as Peach have finally paid off!

If you know, I didn't spend all my time playing Pit now.

Various things

Mischievous
Finally!
Also, after I figured it out, this made me giggle a lot.

A couple of days ago, I stepped on a piece of glass. Ten minutes later, after getting the glass out, I fainted. Again. Apparently I actually faint at the sight of blood.

Yesterday B's friends came over and brought Rock Band and we rocked out. But then they wouldn't let me watch Stargate: Atlantis. In my own house. All I wanted was for B to catch up so I can watch more episodes! Then, I woke up today, and now I can't find Kingdom Hearts 2 anywhere. Whoever switched the games never put it away properly. *shakes fist*

I watched the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. The one the show is based on. It was... strange. But funny. And from the nineties, but it felt like the eighties!

Really Really Dangerous Stargate
My icons are back! And there was much rejoicing. Thank you!

To celebrate, I'm using brand-spanking new icon!

In other news, Roxas breaks my heart. Lion!Sora is cute. (I am re-playing KHII)

Is it strange that I really want to be called in by the police for questioning? I haven't done anything, but I still want to sit in the interrogation room and snark.

I have an entire week off and yet everything is happening today. Go figure.

I probably would've ended up buying/renting the first few seasons of Buffy the Vampire only not really. I did buy Professor Layton and the Curious Village though. It's fun, even though pretty much everybody you talk to ends their conversation in some sort of puzzle. I usually solve the puzzle in some odd way that I wasn't supposed to.

Also? The weather sucks.

Procastinating, it's what's for dinner!

OWNED
This Thursday, I had seen one episode of Veronica Mars Season Two. Now I've finished four out of six discs. Surprisingly, I had managed to get through most of it without slashy thoughts. However, I was disappointed by the lack of Weevil/Logan slash to be found on the internets. This does not mean I'm a shipper for the show, as pretty much anybody that pairs off with Veronica has Bad Stuff happen to them. Actually, pretty much anybody that says 'hello' to Veronica gets thrown for a loop. She's almost as bad as the woman from Murder She Wrote, only with less dead bodies and more blackmail, missing persons, kidnapping, extortion, corporate fraud... okay, and murder. So she's worse...? I do like Weevil and Logan's lawyer.

I've also been finally beating We Love Katamari, and I discovered that I'm actually getting better. Still means that I never manage to light the bonfire though.

Last but not least, I have an assignment due for tomorrow that I've barely worked on. Yay for me!

Huh??
They can't cancel New X-men AND Cable&Deadpool! I might convert to DC, with its Teen Titans, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.

... And Blue Beetle!

In other news, I beat Zelda: Phantom Hourglass this weekend. It was so good.

Can you give me a boo-yah?
